We're Still Here!
/Well! It’s certainly been a long and winding road. As is often the case for many an indie developer, it’s taken more than a few twists and turns to get here.
It’s been a tough couple years for the industry at large, and it was certainly no exception for us either. When we announced Reliquary back in August of 2022, with the hopes of releasing it during that winter, we certainly couldn’t have predicted the road things would take. Unfortunately for us, things got bumpy (side note for any aspiring indie devs, be wary of having your primary funder also serving as your producer, especially if they don’t have development experience).
We were faced with two options: either rush the game out with a sudden lapse in funding, leaving huge chunks under-developed and under-polished, or pull back, regroup, and find a new way forward. Not wanting to put anyone through the draining (and possibly futile) grind of crunch, we chose to regroup and bide our time instead, confident that things would come together when the time was right.
And now… we’re back! We’ve got some exciting stuff coming down the pipeline (including, yes, a release of Reliquary in the future!) and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve got in store. We were all so thrilled with the reception to our original announcement trailer, and that energy has kept us all going knowing we wouldn’t let Reliquary out into the world until it was the best it could be.
